The WMC has been authorized by the Thai government and unites the international Muay Thai organizations and fighters under one umbrella. The WMC establishes and monitors the compliance with general standards in and between the partner organizations. The WMC is represented with partner organizations in more than 120 countries, which all underlie the same rules and standards.

 

Coming from a long tradition the sport of Muay Thai has arrived in modern times. Thus, the sport is on the brink of becoming an Olympic discipline as early as 2016. In addition, Muay Thai has rapidly gained in importance as a lifestylesport in the fitness sector in recent years, counting millions of active athletes around the world by now.
